Foundation 6.4 Released

Foundation 6.4 is now available. The latest iteration of the design world's favorite framework features an awesome new grid that uses Flexbox by default, brand new JavaScript features based on ES2016, and a bunch of other improvements. If you want to get up to speed on the new grid approach fast, check out Zurb's free training sessions Thursday and Friday this week.

Make Better Payments

Mollie promises better payments (better than whom it's not clear). They offer a range of payment products for companies of different sizes. You have the option to accept payments online, or accept recurring payments—like subscriptions. There's a thorough API guide for developers, and pricing is comparable to competitors like PayPal and Stripe.

End Your Meeting at the Right Time

Have you ever been in a design meeting that went serious off piste? You start out pumped about your design solutions and end up convinced they're worthless. Chances are the meeting ran too long. Design legend Paula Scher knows the arc of a productive meeting, and in this short article you'll learn her formula for when to end a client meeting with everyone still enthusiastic.

Growing Your Startup

Growing Startup is an essential iOS app for anyone hoping to be the next Elon Musk. It's free to download and offers a step-by-step system used by entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by focussing on attracting paying customers. As roadmaps to success go, it's well worth considering.

Worth More Than a Fiverr

Fiverr is well known for its race-to-the-bottom approach to freelancing. Now, in an effort to attract professional freelancers, it's turning its back on low-budget work and launching Fiverr Pro, a site for designers who want the Fiverr client process, but want to charge a fair price for their services. You'll need to pass their rigorous application process to be considered.

The Expert Guide to Working from Home

Mike Griggs delivers some essential advice for anyone working from home. With more and more designers making the leap into freelancing, and office space in many cities prohibitively expensive, this guide for the home-worker is packed with advice on staying focused, being productive, and staying healthy (both physically and mentally).

Gmail Signatures Made Easy

Create a professional Gmail signature in under a minute with Blade by choosing a template from the dozens available. There are signatures for sales professionals, marketers, designers, and more. You can even manage multiple signatures, all from within Chrome.

Be Scarily Productive

Scary Productive is a hilarious plugin for Chrome that uses aversion therapy to keep you productive. Just enter the times you want to be productive (say, 9–5) and the websites that distract you (say, Facebook); the next time you visit one of the blacklisted sites you'll be treated to a ghost-train style pop-up screaming face. Even funnier when installed on a colleague's machine.

Checkout The S*** List

If you're a freelancer and you're struggled to get an invoice paid then The S*** List could be for you. The site is naming and shaming businesses that don't pay up once work is complete. Set up by Kristiina Wilson and featuring primarily New York, NY-based freelancers, it's packed with nightmare clients. Before you take on a new client, check they're not known for stiffing designers.
