A GSAP Web Animation Tutorial for Beginners

One of the great things about being a web content editor is the constant exposure to new and unique tools, technologies, and coding practices.

In many cases, the articles I edit for SitePoint are about techniques or tools I've never used before – not even as an experimental exercise outside of real projects.

The top article in this week's issue of the front-end newsletter is a perfect example of this. Maria, my co-editor here at SitePoint, has started an article series covering GreenSock, or GSAP, the popular JavaScript animation library.

Over the years I've read and skimmed many articles covering GSAP, and I've seen discussions on the pros and cons of the library, in comparison to CSS performance, for example.

But even after all these years, I still haven't built anything with GSAP, so I definitely felt a little underqualified to review Maria's article. Fortunately, she's a pro and did a great job so I made very few edits, and all trivial ones.

And the best part for me? I became more familiar with GSAP and now I have a go-to article to get me started if I ever need a powerful animation library for a project.

So check out the article for yourself. I'm sure you'll feel the same way.

HTML/CSS Channel Editor
