One last thing: 3 trends that show how TV entertainment is changing

Video killed the radio star, but long gone are the days when TV was your only choice for video entertainment. Nowadays, more than half of 18-49 year olds either don't have a TV subscription or are light TV viewers. But that doesn't mean TV content and screens are on their way out. Here are 3 trends on YouTube that show how definitions and expectations of video entertainment are changing. First, the way people watch TV is evolving. People are spending twice as much time watching official TV channels on YouTube as they did two years ago! Second, more viewers are turning to content about TV episodes or movies to deepen their understanding. For example, "explainer" videos are increasingly popular—like this Vanity Fair video in which Avengers' directors spill the details about Thor's meeting with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Lastly, video viewers love bite-sized highlight clips that are the perfect cure for a case of FOMO.
