It used to be all about formatting for the TV screen, but now things have gotten a lot smaller...and vertical! Formatting your ads for mobile devices is important, especially since more than half of all YouTube views are done on the small screen (YouTube Internal Data, April 2016). And speaking of phones, ever seen one put in a blender? Destruction videos are (literally) crushing it on YouTube by showing us the insides of everything from bowling balls and sneakers to laptops. Aside from being fun, this trend gives advertisers a unique way to show off their product.

In this Adweek article, the brains behind the project discuss how their extensive research of this YouTube mega trend allowed them to create a video that delivers their product benefits in a pleasant, calming way, "something a TV spot or print ad doesn't always succeed at."
