To kick off its highly anticipated Shark Week, Discovery Channel proposed the ultimate contest—man vs. beast. Michael Phelps swam against a computer-simulated shark to see who was the faster swimmer (and possible survivor of a real encounter). With the press buzzing about the race for weeks leading up to the event, we were reminded of how much we love intense competitions and Olympic-level glory. Kudos, Jaws!
