When I became a first time home owner and moved to the suburbs last year, I found myself in the middle of a lot of home improvement and parenting-related DIY projects. I used some videos on YouTube as a guide for small, but very important, tasks, such as "How to install a car seat without a base." These videos helped me follow along with complicated projects – from installing a garage door to trimming a tree – and ultimately complete everything successfully! I've found a range of different channels useful, and generally seek out home improvement DIY videos by checking out their relevance, view counts, and positive comments.
It's no surprise that 93% of millennials go to YouTube to learn how to do something (Google/Ipsos Connect, September 2016). We'll continue to invite friends from the advertising community to guest curate YouTube Picks.
